The HAFAD Information service provides information on a range of issues which affect disabled people in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The enquiries may be about disability or any other issue affecting HAFAD members or people with personal and professional interest in disability.
Hafad Information Line runs on Mon-Thurs (closed for lunch between 1pm to 2pm)
We produce a monthly publication Bulletin. HAFAD Bulletin is packed with the latest news from HAFAD, welfare rights, employment, changes in Legislation, arts, sports and leisure activities, etc. The Bulletin is available in print (ariel 14pt), large print and on tape.
We also provide editorial for a monthly Disability News page in the Hammersmith, Fulham and Shepherds Bush Gazette. The main purpose of this page is to inform local people about various disability issues, raise awareness of disability issues in the community as well as raise HAFAD profile.
HAFAD also runs a Disability Information Desk at Charing Cross Hospital which provides valuable information to the hospital staff and patients. The Desk is run jointly with Sunberry Centre for the Development and support of disabled people. We will be extending this service to Hammersmith Hospital in the near future. The information worker represents HAFAD at local events such as Community Care information Fair, the Council is Antipoverty Strategy Day, etc, where we hold information stalls.
