Who
can the Phoenix Project benefit?
The Phoenix Project works with young disabled adults, who want to work towards greater independence and can participate in setting the goals they wish to achieve. What is meant by greater independence? Independence means different things to different people. For example it could mean moving into fully independent or supported accommodation;learning skills that will lead to work; practising self care or developing skills. How we work Phoenix participants are allocated a personal project worker and together they will draw up an individual work programme based on their long and short term goals. Each person's progress is monitored and regular contact is maintained with all involved including tutors, occupational therapist, social workers, parents and carers. Phoenix runs on an academic year basis and offers a flexible timetable and individual activities which is developed and adapted according to the needs of members. We offer a fast track to greater independence. Everyone receives maximum assistance to achieve there goals as quickly as possible. Once goals are realized members will be supported to move on from Phoenix. Phoenix
activities change of frequent basis, and all participants have an individual
timetable, usually with different days of attendance.
